Optional Extras...a better deal for guests
The Inn's elf is happy to set up any of the following "Optional Extras" for guests. (We've found over the years that our guests were actually losing money on packages as there are no refunds for portions of a package that you don't use, for whatever reason, like weather, etc. Also, maybe a package contains a coupon for an Italian restaurant and you get here and find out that one of the best restaurants in Arkansas is just down the street from our inn. Again, you've lost money on the package. Soooooo, our elf offers you "Optional Extras" -- you pay the vendor direct for most of the items and we can always cancel once you get here if you decide you want to do something else. It's a win-win situation!)

CLIFF COTTAGE INN'S ELF OFFERS THESE OPTIONAL EXTRAS

**Small Elopement Weddings/Vow Renewals

THREE TIMELESS TYPICAL DAYS AT CLIFF COTTAGE INN

Day 1: Wake up and turn on the coffeemaker for some of Cliff Cottage Inn's famous coffee the elf imports from a plantation in Costa Rica. Next, enjoy the gourmet breakfast delivered on a silver tray right to your door by the Cliff Cottage Inn's elf. Take a short 1-mile walk around the Nature Loop behind the Inn where you'll see Little Lake Eureka, then Carrie Nation's last home (Hatchet Hall), all kinds of songbirds, deer and beautiful wildflowers, ending up right downtown again. Meander through all the fabulous art galleries, antique stores and specialty shops before having lunch in one of the many bistros and cafes then walk just 5 minutes back to the inn. Maybe a little nap then a ride out to see world-famous Thorncrown Chapel named #4 of the top 10 buildings of the last century. Just down the road past the chapel, drive into Lake Leatherwood Park (2100 acres and the second largest in-city park in America!). Enjoy a leisurely stroll on the lovely hiking trails designed by a master trail-blazer and maybe even a late afternoon paddle-boat "cruise" on the lake before returning to the inn and a fabulous dinner at one of the many restaurants just a few minutes walk from the inn. (Innkeeper Sandra will let you know all about the best ones!) In the evening, enjoy an outing to the Ozark Mountain Hoedown where you'll hear some of the terrific local fiddlers, guitar and banjo players and bluegrass singers, not to mention the comic who regales the audience nightly with his hillbilly impersonations. Back to the Inn for a nightcap glass of Champagne, courtesty of the inn's elf, before hopping in your jacuzzi!

Day 2: After enjoying your delivered breakfast, hop in the car for the 25-minute ride out to Beaver Lake, said to be the second cleanest lake in America. Maybe stop at Subway or Little Bread Co. to pick up some sandwiches for a romantic picnic. (You can purchase a bottle of wine or Champagne from the inn whose wine cave maintains perfect 52-degree storage temperature.)The Inn's elf can arrange a half-day pontoon boat rental for you at Starkey Marina, or maybe you'd like to take the Belle of the Ozarks boat cruise on the lake departing 3 times daily. There's a wonderful State Park beside the marina with a delightful swimming area. Then back in the car for a short 10-minute drive to Blue Springs Heritage Center where you can enjoy a short video showing the "Trail of Tears" encampment there and learn about the Native Americans who populated the area. Then another short drive takes you to Pea Ridge, the Civil War landmark where the most famous battle on Arkansas soil took place. A leisurely drive back through the Ozarks brings you to the Inn again where you can indulge in a little rest before dinner in one of the fine eateries. Tonight, you'll enjoy the world-famous Great Passion Play, a 2-hour extravaganza in a 4,000-seat outdoor amphitheatre, performed by some 250 local actors depicting the last week of Christ's life. The Passion Play is just a six-minute drive from Cliff Cottage Inn and the elf is always happy to make reservations for you (no performances on Sun. & Wedn.).

Day 3: After your delivered breakfast, you can take one of the "Historical Walking Tours" offered in a booklet available at the Eureka Springs Historic Museum right across the street from Cliff Cottage Inn. The booklet offers a step-by-step description of all you will see on the route you select and it's a perfect way to get to know the "real" Eureka and her many interesting past and present residents. After lunch, you can drive the 18 miles to Cosmic Cavern, the area's most celebrated caves featuring two recently discovered underground lakes, lots of stalagmites and stalagtites and fascinating geological formations, all fully described by your knowledgeable guide. Another option for this day would be to drive the 47 miles over to Branson (a gorgeous drive through the Ozarks) and enjoy a show or two or a visit to their many discount malls. On the way home, stop at Big Cedar Lodge for a grand dinner -- it's owned by the Bass Pro Shop and has a terrific gift shop for the sports enthusiast. You'll get back to Eureka in time for either an evening of fun at the Pine Mountain Jamboree.
