Fireworks and Fun, July 4th

 Experience an old-fashioned and small-town Independence Day celebration complete with a variety of family-friendly activities at the Holiday Island Chamber of Commerce’s Fifth Annual Holiday Island Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration.
The celebration is free to the public and will take place at the Recreation Complex at Holiday Island Friday, July 4. It will begin at 2 p.m. with lawn games available throughout the day, various vendors offering Italian shaved ice, farmer’s market items, ice cream, watermelon, baked goods, t-shirts, etc., ending at dusk with the fireworks display which will be choreographed to music. There will be live music 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.,  The Ariels will provide live entertainment from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. A Tribute to Veterans will start at 3:00 p.m.
A pulled-pork dinner will be held from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., or until sold out at the historic Barn and will be available for dine-in or carryout. Attendees are encouraged to take their food outside to enjoy the live entertainment, and if pulled-pork isn’t your pallet preference, hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, and a variety of snacks and drinks will also be available for purchase on location.
Holiday Island Chamber members, who also coordinated the event, are proud to announce that J & M Displays, will provide Holiday Island’s fireworks display. J & M uses the latest in technology driven shows for state-of-the-art computer firing systems and design software enabling performances to be digitally synchronized with music. The music for Holiday Island’s fireworks display will be aired on Eureka Springs’ radio station KESA 100.9 FM. The fireworks display can also be viewed from your boat on Table Rock Lake.

DIRECTIONS: Follow Main Street (Hwy.23 heading north) out of Eureka Springs about 5 miles to Holiday Island. Left on Holiday Island Drive (opposite bank on right and gas station on right). Go 4 to 5 miles to State Line Road. Left on State Line to Woodsdale Drive. Right on Woodsdale and you’ll be greeted by folks with maps and parking/seating information. If you want to go to the pulled-pork dinner in the Barn, you would continue on Woodsdale to Shields Drive where you turn left onto Shields and Barn is shortly ahead. They often run out of the dinner items earlier than the close-down time.
