Valentine’s weekend saw visitors streaming into Eureka Springs for the start of the new 2014 tourist season. Here at Cliff Cottage Inn we were fully booked, with our guests enjoying the convenience of staying in the only B&B Inn located right in the heart of the Historic Downtown. Of course guests were also treated to an award-winning full gourmet breakfast delivered right to their door as well as a complimentary bottle of Champagne or white wine chilled and waiting in their fridge.
Saturday was an especially festive day. Our third annual Chocolate Lovers Festival ran all day, with more than 100,00 pieces of chocolate in all possible shapes, sizes and forms devoured by several thousand hungry, sweet-loving visitors. Then on Saturday night, the city really came alive and started jumping to the instrumentals and vocals of some of the area’s very best bands. This was Eureka’s annual Jamfest, one of the best musical performances of the new season. The evening witnessed an eclectic mix of musical styles, from blues to bluegrass, and from country and western to pop. A large audience in Eureka’s historic auditorium (The Aud) enjoyed several hours of first-fate entertainment with perfect acoustics and professional lighting and staging. At the end of the evening, all of the performers came on stage together to present a song they had never done together before, the classic “Johny Be Good”, followed by “Chain of Fools”.
